Position: Survey Equipment Service Technician
Location: Reading
Type: Permanent
Hours: 8.00am – 5.00pm, Mon-Fri
Salary: Negotiable DOE
Benefits: Bonus Scheme

The Role
Due to continued growth we are currently seeking an experienced Service Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, repair and calibration of Leica survey instrumentation. Experience in the repair and service of Leica surveying equipment is preferred, however full product training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Servicing and repairing Leica survey instruments
  • Calibrating equipment including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, Levels, Rotating Lasers, Pipe Lasers, etc.
  • Perform tasks efficiently and with minimal supervision
  • Ad hoc duties as needed

Additional Requirements:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Computer literate – competent in MS Office
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Problem solving and analysis

Position: Support and Training Engineer – Laser Scanning
Location: Reading - with nationwide travel
Type: Permanent
Hours: 8.00am - 5.00pm, Mon-Fri
Salary: Negotiable
Benefits: Bonus Scheme + Company Car

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice and guidance to customers in many aspects of the application of laser scanning both in the field and post processing
  • Liasing with the sales team to provide laser scanning training pre and post sales as required
  • Provide direct support on Opti-cal's laser scanning product portfolio and also aid in the support of other survey products
  • Training is to be provided at a variety of locations including our nationwide facilities, customer’s offices and virtual classes
  • Create Laser Scanning Support Materials such as course’s, guides, videos, blog post and social media content
  • Provide equipment demonstrations directly to customers as required

Key Skills:

  • The individual will need to be able to effectively communicate with a wide range of customers.  This individual will need find solutions to customer problems in a professional manner that is consistent with Opti-cal standards
  • A strong knowledge of surveying practice including the use of laser scanners
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent IT Skills including: Microsoft Office, Laser Scanning Registration Software, AutoCAD, Revit, other CAD software and internet skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills

Travel:This position will require travel throughout the UK
