Back in April we received advice that Panasonic had issued a safety notice in regards to some battery packs supplied with their FZ-G1 toughbook tablet PC, which is the basis of the Leica CS35 and CT2000 controller. Under certain circumstances when the contaminated battery packs are exposed to extreme temperature variation there is a risk of the units overheating and igniting, and an update to the BIOS of the PC was released to minimise the risk while the cause was investigated.
In an update Panasonic, have announced a voluntary recall for the affected batteries.
