Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)
The right UAV for you will be defined by what you aim to achieve with it.
The DJI Inspire 1 Pro is the perfect UAV for pilots looking to fly smaller sites. The Inspire comes equipped with up to 4 batteries which allow around 1 hour of flight and has a range of HD cameras and sensors which can be easily swapped.
For more advanced users the DJI Matrice 600 might be the better option. The UAV carries 6 batteries on board and can take a much heavier payload along with the potential to upgrade the on board GNSS. The Matrice 600 can support your choice of DSLR or be paired with a Hasselblad A5D aerial camera for the ultimate in UAV imagery.
Both the Inspire 1 Pro and Matrice 600 can be operated by two people. The pilot can concentrate on flying safely while the camera can be operated separately on a second controller both using real time video feed and flight telemetry.
To legally fly a small unmanned aerial system in the UK the Operator is legally required to hold a Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO) from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Before a PfCO is issued the Operator must write and have approved an Operations Manual. Also any pilots who are to fly for that Operator must hold a CAA approved NQE issued qualification demonstrating their operating competence and flying capability.
