Opti-cal received their first shipment of the much anticipated DJI M210 UAV’s this week.
The DJI M210 is a versatile platform, designed to work in adverse conditions, offering a range of payload options and includes a single upward facing gimbal and dual downward gimbals.
Not only is the M210 IP43 rated (dust and waterproof), it also features DJI’s latest generation battery system which pre-heats the batteries to optimum flying temperature ahead of take-off. Being able to operate in more variable weather conditions means less down time and disruption to your work, whether it is search and rescue, asset inspection, or surveying.
This more robust platform also features redundancy in several areas; dual batteries, dual IMU’s, dual GNSS antenna’s, triple barometer and dual internal caballing. This results in a more stable and highly reliable UAV, which gives confidence when operating over sensitive environments.
The payload options include the highly rated Zenmuse X5S camera, Zenmuse Z30 (30x optical zoom) and Zenmuse XT thermal sensor. When used with the dual gimbal the Crystal Sky display shows the live feed from both sensors for you to view the data in real time, or capture simultaneously. From an inspection perspective this allows surveyors to capture two datasets from a single flight. For inspection and search and rescue it means being able to pick up thermal anomalies and then use the second sensor to locate the anomaly using RGB and zoom options.
In short, the DJI M210 represents a whole new venture from DJI – a UAV designed with the sole purpose of survey and inspection, to be used in any conditions, maximising safety and minimising downtime.
