December is here, the weather is turning (wetter if not colder) and it’s time to look back at the past year and look forward into the year to come.
A lot has changed here at Opti-cal towers with an influx of enthusiastic new members of the team joining us. If you’ve had the fortune (or misfortune) to have called the support line over the last 12 months, you’ll have had the chance to speak to Alan and Peter who are based in our Livingston and Milton Keynes Service Centres. You’ll know if your speaking to Alan as he’s the chap who answers the phone before you’ve realised you’ve hit dial…
Overall though it’s been a year of new products which has opened new challenges and new opportunities. We’ve seen the end of the TS12, the GS08+ and the entirety of the old FlexLine range from Leica, and they’ve been replaced with the TS13, the GS07 and a new family of manual total stations. With its rapid data capture and user-friendly interface, the launch of the RTC360 looks set to bring high quality scanning to the wider community (for those who can support the IT investment needed to deal with those file sizes). The most exciting development for me though is our investment in two Pegasus:Two Ultimate mobile mapping systems. We can now give businesses across the country the opportunity to move into this growing sector.
I’m sure there will be much more exciting developments to come in the new year. From all of us here in the Support Shed at Opti-cal towers have a Merry Christmas and we look forward to speaking to you soon.
